I was pointed over here to the freindly Tiling Forum by Lee of ProTilers (Thanks Lee). After opening an account on "the other side",

I guess my username gives away what I do now - but I arrived in the Diamond Tool industry having been a tiler, then tiling contractor, then tiling contractor stone importer.....it kind of evolved.

I now supply dimaond tools, mainly to a lot of my ex stone customers for fabrication of countertops and such like.

However I have products that may be of interest to the tiling fraternity and I'm always on the lookout for new ideas as we can manufacture pretty much anything (within reason) of a diamond tooling variety.

I hope I can add to the forum.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

We're predominantly suppliers of equipment to the countertop and masonry trade, but I had a couple of tilers ask for specific pieces of equipment, mainly profiling tools.

The problem with any kind of profiling is the vast cost of the tooling and machines on which they are used. So if you're wanting to put a nice simple profile finish on 2 or 3 step treads, then a £700 router and £200 per bit to fit it is not an option. We came up with some alternatives.

Based on an American design we produced a half bullnose profiling wheel to fit the Dewalt D24000. But rather than just make the centre arbor at Dewalt size (5/8") we made it variable with adjustment rings so it will fit any suitable machine with a 25.4mm, 22.23mm or 20mm arbour that is able to accommodate a blade that's 8mm thick.

But what if you don't own a Dewalt D24000 or other plunge cut bridge saw?

Well, we came up with a tool that fits onto a variable speed angle grinder or hand held polishing machine. The big advantage of these is they can even be used on stone in situ or for repairing existing installations.

Each one of these tools is made with a vacuum brazed 40/50 diamond grit, they have separate bearings top and bottom that revolve independently to keep the tool straight. They are perfect for making skirting tiles and step tread edges etc.

They are designed to be used with any natural stone or man made engineered stone (Silestone quartz etc).

Lifespan will vary, obviously you'll get far more life cutting limestone then absolute black granite. But the lifespan will be measured in 100's of linear meters per bit.

Each tool will accurately cut the chosen shape of the curve, the is will then need gently smoothing for a honed finish or polishing for a polished finish on a marble tile for instance.

We can pretty much make anything, within reason and cost. So if there's something you've always thought "I'd really do with a tool to do this" then ask us, we may be able to make it.

Very cheap, I sell what I would consider to be disposable/consumable holesaws.

    Priced accordingly.

I sell a lot on eBay to cater for the domestic market, or so I thought. But I now have so many trade customers, and repeat trade customers we're probably going to set up an on line shop and eventually get off eBay.

I will also be bringing in sintered diamond cores at a later date but I'm still figuring out which market I want to enter on that product.
