Lol, I don't even do my own :) I'm hoping to get a few more prizes into that list yet. Depending on how well my tests go with the diamond pads I've designed I may just throw a few packs of those into the competition.

Do them diamond pads have to go on floor machine Dave or can be attached to a grinder/polisher 4.5" ?
  7. DavidCarr Tiling Forum Admin

They are 100mm, I've been testing them on a hand machine for the last couple of days, on floor machines I'd just put 3 or 4 on the base plate.

If they go on a grinder they'll be dead handy for my sculpting.... :)
  9. DavidCarr Tiling Forum Admin

They work best between 1000 - 2400 rpm so quite low speed being a dry polishing pad, the wet version will go to around 3500 rpm.

I've got a makita speed adjustable angle grinder, would that work?

    And a Fein like Multi-tool...

And a corner sander... with a velcro fit surface

    any of those any good?
  11. DavidCarr Tiling Forum Admin

You could probably use all of those, when I do detail work I cut the circular pads into triangles. If in doubt, turn the speed down, if you go too fast with dry pads you can get resin burn. Did you see the video of the tests? Here

:) Wow. Remember guys, the competition is about this:

    (This forum's competition perimeters:)

What makes the best forum contributor? Basically everything you do here is a contribution (advice, guidance, welcomes, portfolio threads and photos, videos of your work, step by step walkthroughs of projects ) - so the forum members who provide the best contributions throughout the month will be entered into a short list poll one week before the end of the month, this will allow us then to vote for our winner.

Please note: you cannot win by posting thousands of hellos, you do need to contribute good info and please show us your work.

Take it the comp is open to everyone
  15. DavidCarr Tiling Forum Admin

Open to fixers only, not sure if they'll post to tasmania though mate. I am working with a couple of brands that do supply in your area for future months competitions. So I'll have to keep you posted on that one.
