How many of you fine people work for shop fitters.
And how are you finding it?

Only work for private domestic. Very busy. More than I can handle. Tempting to take more on, but I like a simple life!

I do private and commercial work, but things are really really slow at the moment, to the point where I'm thinking of packing up tbh.

We do predominantly private work and a bit of work for smaller house builders. (Can't be bothered with the major house builders, too much hassle), and were ridiculously busy fixing wise. Subbing work out as we can't physically do it all. July and august is normally really quiet but this year summers been cracking for us. Funny how it varies so much in different areas.

I am ticking along...........and I do both domestic and commercial (inc. shopfitting....Molton Brown, Knight Frank etc)...............it is a little slower (as to be expected!).......but, as long as my fridge is full and the bills are paid.......I am happy.......

    best wishes

I'm just coming to the end of a really busy period, if the trend continues for this year, i'll find myself with very little to do before having another hectic spell.

Yes I work just work for a shop fitter all my floors have changed to wood and might have lost the work for the brick slips as well so I haven't had any work for quiet a while

I'm under serious pressure, a pub job to 11pm last night.
Back there today then fitted a fireplace at 1pm, back to pub then 6pm off to level a floor for a bathroom that I have to tile next week.
I also have a full house ongoing, a big floor, another full house, numerous bathrooms, tortured really.
Oh and the pub job from yesterday was fitting marble bits between urinals, vanity units, mirror surrounds etc and there were easily 8 guys in there tiling !!!!!
The worst tiling I have seen in ages, lol.
How some guys get away is beyond me.

Jay the place was full of workers, the tilers said everyone could walk on the fresh floors after half an hour, lol.
They had lips of 3-5mm easily in places, dust everywhere too.
It was scary and I was at the bar drinking beer at 11pm last night.
It was all atrocious, the new toilets were opening tonight- oops.
I even fitted 3 mirrors there at 5.30pm.
Lovely owners too, free drink, free piza etc.
    Drinks no prob.

    ouch!!!
  19. Joe @ Hillhead Tiling Professional Tile Fixer

The pics don't really show how bad it is either Jay, why people buy great quality tiles then drag the pub drinkers in to tile it is beyond me, lol.
The company who supplied the tiles had me in fitting the marble bits but they got no other labour in it.
Too many of their men in England on a big contract so I'm left here with a mountain of work from them.
